Midgar

"The Mako Energy Capital of the World", Midgar is Shinra's crowning achievement. This technological miracle is a majestic city consisting of eight sectors.

Getting There and Around

Midgar is located in a large valley on the western side of the Eastern Continent, just south of Kalm. Once within Midgar, visitors can merely hop on a passenger train at the nearest station to get to whereever they need to go in the city (please note that all lines terminate in the Sector Seven slums). Road travel is also available for visitors driving Shinra vehicles, and we are currently hard at work on a highway network that will extend beyond the city.

We're very sorry, but air travel within city limits is restricted to Shinra executives, Turks, and military personnel.

Points of Interest

The Shinra Building - At the central hub of Midgar stands this building, the heart of our great corporation. Within its walls, the world is slowly being reinvented with every passing day. In our central lobby, you can take a tour of our automotive display, which features all the latest models of Mako powered vehicles ready for purchase. Tours of the Shinra Building are available; please call ahead for reservations.

Mako Reactors - Midgar draws all of its power from massive reservoirs of Mako directly beneath the ground, which are processed at any one of eight reactors lining the city's perimeter. We're very sorry, but due to security and safety concerns, none of Midgar's mako reactors are open to the public.

Sector Six Slums: Wall Market - This always-bustling shopping district has an amazing array of stores, restaurants, and other businesses to tantalize you!

Sector Seven Slums: Train Graveyard - The Sector Seven Slums marks the end of the line for Shinra's railroad system, and as such is home to a massive rail yard, which includes several out of service locamotives and train cars.

Sector Seven Slums: Beginner's Hall - Stop here to learn the basics of getting by when you're out traveling.

Attractions

Loveless - When not touring the East Continent, the Loveless Theatre Company calls Midgar's Sector Eight home. This play, which has been performed hundreds of times throughout the world, is renowned for its timelessness and message of hope. If you plan to visit Midgar, be sure to see this classic at least once!
