One of the great tragedies of the world, the incident at Gongaga is a lesson we have all learned from. Gongaga suffered much damage when its mako reactor, one of the first ones ever built, exploded. Since the Gongaga Disaster, Shinra has committed itself to raising and maintaining the safety standards of all of our mako technology. Today, mako is the safest energy source in the world.
Getting There
Gongaga is located in the middle of a forest near a massive red rock, due south of the Gold Saucer and southeast of Cosmo Canyon.
Points of Interest
Gongaga Reactor - The remains of this reactor have left a scar on the landscape of Gongaga. Unlike other mako reactors, this one is free for any traveler to explore.

Accessory Store - Features a decent selection of accesories, especially protective ones. Also stocks special materia.
Weapon Shop - Located on the floor above the Accessory Store, this shop has a good selection of weapons and battle items, including transforming items and Molotovs.
Item Shop - Has a good variety of basic and special curatives in stock.
